With rotating and floating restaurants, you’re never quite sure what you’ll find but you can always count on a surprise and delight to your pallet, once you surrender to the aroma.  Vegans and vegetarians are welcome.

Hi there! Exciting news! We're fostering even more community spirit at Malibu Farmers Market! It is now mandatory starting today, June 14th, that all of our vendors create and share 3 posts. Let's spread the love together every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, tagging us @malibufarmersmarket on Instagram and on Facebook if you have it as well. We will repost it. A quick reminder, when sharing your posts, let's keep the focus on your amazing products! No people, labels, or signs, please. Just your fantastic offerings! LA County DOH Rules

Upon your acceptance, you will be asked to provide the following: In
order to participate in the Malibu Farmers Market as a Farmer, all items must be handmade or created by the vendor applying to the market. To begin the process, please fill out the online Farmers Market Application (below) for General Vendors.

  • A copy of your Seller’s Permit.

  • A picture of your products/display.

  • A Credit Card (via SQAURE) to reserve your space.

  • Email a copy of your Insurance Certificate per our Insurance Requirements for all Farmers Vendors, adding Cornucopia Malibu Farmers Market 23519 Civic Center Way Malibu, CA 90265 as additionally insured to: thecornucopiafoundation@gmail.com. We do not provide insurance to our vendors. If you need assistance obtaining insurance you may contact ACT Insurance company.   • Do not mail or fax us a copy of your insurance. Do not hand a copy of your insurance in at the market. We only accept insurance certificates through email. We do not accept insurance certificates in any other format. 

  • NOTE ABOUT EXPIRED DOCUMENTS: When any of your documents expire, it is your responsibility to email The Cornucopia Foundation your updated documents. Failure to do so will result in a $25 fee. If your documents are not mailed in before the next market, a second penalty fee of $50 will apply and/or you may be suspended from the market.

  • To cause less confusion or any misunderstandings, you need to appoint one person to be the representative for your company to have any/and all interaction with The Cornucopia Foundation such as complaints, suggestions, and payment.

  • You will be receiving a Malibu Farmers Market invoice through Square, where you will need to set up an automatic payment. You can use Credit, Debit Card, or Re-loadable Cash Card.

Vendor Sustainability & Plastic-Free Requirements

Before You Apply

Malibu is committed to protecting its beaches, ocean, wildlife, waterways, and surrounding natural environment. Vendors play an important role in helping reduce plastic waste and supporting more sustainable practices.

All vendors and new applicants are responsible for complying with applicable City of Malibu plastic-reduction and sustainable-material requirements.

Before purchasing supplies or submitting your vendor application, please make sure your packaging, bags, foodware, utensils, and other disposable materials meet the requirements below.

No Plastic Straws, Stirrers or Cutlery

Single-use plastic and bioplastic straws, stirrers, forks, knives, spoons, sporks, and similar utensils are prohibited.

This includes items advertised as:

  • Compostable plastic

  • Biodegradable plastic

  • Plant-based plastic

  • Bioplastic

Choose non-plastic alternatives such as paper, bamboo, wood, sugar cane, or other compliant materials.

Disposable non-plastic straws, stirrers, and cutlery should be provided only when requested by the customer.

Malibu Municipal Code § 9.24.045

No Polystyrene Foam

Prohibited polystyrene foam foodware may not be used or distributed.

This includes many foam:

  • Cups and plates

  • Bowls and trays

  • Clamshell and takeout containers

  • Meat and fish trays

  • Egg cartons

  • Packing materials and containers

Disposable food service ware must meet applicable compostability or recyclability requirements.

Malibu Municipal Code Chapter 9.24

No Single-Use Plastic Shopping Bags

Vendors may not provide single-use plastic or compostable-plastic shopping bags to customers.

Customers are encouraged to bring reusable bags.

If recycled paper carryout bags are provided, vendors must follow applicable City and State requirements, including any required customer bag charge.

A Note About “Compostable” Products

Check the material—not just the label.

A product marketed as compostable, biodegradable, plant-based, or eco-friendly may still contain plastic and may not comply with Malibu’s requirements.

When purchasing straws, stirrers, cutlery, foodware, bags, or packaging, vendors should confirm that the product meets applicable City requirements before using it.

Vendor Checklist

Before applying or participating, confirm that:

  • I do not use plastic or bioplastic straws, stirrers, or disposable cutlery.

  • My disposable straws, stirrers, and cutlery are non-plastic and provided only upon request.

  • I do not use prohibited polystyrene foam foodware.

  • My disposable food service ware meets applicable requirements.

  • I do not provide single-use plastic or compostable-plastic shopping bags.

  • If I provide paper carryout bags, I follow applicable City and State requirements.

  • I will verify unfamiliar products or materials before using them.

Applicant Acknowledgment

By submitting a vendor application, I acknowledge that I have reviewed the Vendor Sustainability & Plastic-Free Requirements and understand that I am responsible for ensuring that the products, packaging, bags, foodware, and service materials used in my operation comply with applicable City of Malibu requirements.
